Tobin Miller

Married Community Director

Meet Tobin

I was born into a military family from Montana that traveled every 3 years therefore I had the opportunity to see a lot of America in my early years. My family finally settled in Alabama and I graduated from Auburn University with a Pre-Med. Degree and did some graduate work in genetics and worked in a trauma unit as an intern.

I have studied at Auburn, Princeton, Fudan China University, Oxford / Queen’s College and Dallas Theological Seminary and am currently enrolling in Western Seminary for my doctoral degree.

Initially, I felt the Lord calling me to work in ministry with college students. I joined staff with Athletes in Action and became the chaplain of the athletic teams at the University of Texas where we started taking students on summer language programs to China… where I fell in love with China and Asia.

I taught at Fudan University, Nankai University, Nanjing University, and HoHai University over the 20 years I was in China. From China, after my wife, Christina, and I were married, we were called to help pastor a new church on Hong Kong Island in 2002 where they we were for the last 14 years with our 4 kiddos, living among and ministering to the international business community of Hong Kong.

My wife and I planted Watermark Community Church Hong Kong in 2010 on the western side of Hong Kong Island. We served there and trained up future leaders and church planters for several countries in Asia. In Hong Kong, I helped get Young life, RZIM ministries, and City to City Asia started. I have been a part of the New York Redeemer Presbyterian Church’s network of church planters, trainers, and coaches for many years. I am a pastoral and church planter trainer and coach for CMM & the Redeemer City to City network.

The Lord brought me and my family back to the States to take care of other family members with health issues and currently I have the pleasure of serving on staff at Watermark Community Church Dallas helping with church planting, leadership development and evangelism.

My life’s mission statement is, “to produce spiritual servant leaders, who passionately pursue growth with God within community” or to say it another way… to help people take their next step in their spiritual journey with the Lord in community.

In my free time I love taking my wife on dates & long walks, playing games with my kiddos, visiting new countries, reading a good book, and fishing.
