Meet Sarah

For the first 20 years of my life, I thought God wanted my performance and I was frustrated when I kept falling short. I trusted Christ to save me from my sins at 5 years old, but I didn’t know the Gospel had any impact on my day-to-day life. Exhausted and frustrated, I moved to Dallas in 2017. I decided to see if the world could give me the satisfaction that legalism couldn’t offer.

In the midst of my rebellion, I started attending a church called Watermark. God used His people there to help me understand a truth I’d never considered: there is nothing I can do to make God love me more, and nothing I can do to make Him love me less. That changed everything. I could stop trying to earn His love. I was free to be authentic about my sin. God started to redeem the broken parts of my life. Four years later, He gave me the incredible opportunity to join staff here at Watermark. I remember when I first walked through the doors of this place feeling isolated, ashamed, and afraid that people would know me. Because of His grace, I am known, restored, and free. Now I get to tell others about the hope and peace I found in Jesus.
