Howdy! I’m Brittany, an ardent storyteller, quintessential extrovert, and amateur barista who absolutely loves all things Jesus and the great outdoors. After God miraculously saved my sight when I was three, my understanding of the gospel was sharpened by the theological expertise of my parents, and I was baptized after my profession of faith at age five. Growing up as a church-plant P.K. (pastor’s kid), a lot of my views about God revolved around my dad, so when he left our family and church, my then fourth-grade faith was rocked. Jaded, apathetic, and insecure, I was plagued by doubt as I clumsily navigated a traumatic adolescence alongside my superhero mom and two younger siblings. I continued going through the motions of a nominal Christian, mistaking Bible trivia for biblical literacy and abusing God’s grace to justify my sin, but I was spiritually blind. Then, the same God who saved my physical sight gave me spiritual sight. My freshman year at Texas A&M, God lovingly tackled me with Romans 6:1-4, and the gospel finally clicked: my sinful self died with Christ so my new self could live with him! I was not defined by what I’d done or what had been done to me, but by what Jesus did for me in his death and resurrection. Now, I could walk in newness of life and fullness of joy as his beloved daughter.
During the rest of my time at A&M, I got to teach women how biblical literacy cultivates a greater love for Jesus, and I earned my B.A. in Strategic Communication. In 2023, I moved back home to DFW to pursue my Master of Biblical and Theological Studies at DTS, where I discovered a passion for communicating the story of Scripture. I jumped in as a member at Watermark in 2023, and in God’s immeasurable kindness, I came on staff in June 2025. The Lord has redeemed me and my story in more ways than I can count, and I am so blessed to serve him and my church family in my dream job!
When I’m not writing or talking about Jesus, you can find me serving with Watermark Students, chatting at a coffee shop, bouldering, piddling around with a musical instrument, or doing some sort of activity outside. If you see me around, say hi!
