Hey there, I’m Rob Thomas. I’ve been at Watermark since 1999 and continue to be so grateful for this place. I met my wife, Haley, in 1998 while we served with Young Life. I was smitten with her the minute I met her, and it only took her two years to feel the same. We were married in 2001 and went on to have four kids: Cobb, Charly, Ridge, and Tribb. Life with them has been amazing and full (and loud!). Career-wise, I started The Igniter Company back in 2003 and we’ve been serving churches with media resources ever since.
I grew up in Dallas and came to know the Lord early in life — which I’m so thankful for. But as I entered my teen years, I really struggled with my identity. I knew I was a Christian, but also felt I didn’t fit or belong in most circles. This left me feeling lonely and confused, and often turning to my flesh. But I now see how God used those moments and struggles to create reliance on Him and a deeper empathy for others. It was later that I realized the answer to my “who am I?” identity question… I am His (John 1:12). And that’s all that really matters!
Haley and I have loved our years of being part of this church family. We’ve been able to serve together in many areas: We’ve led Foundation and re|engage groups, served at Merge, and we’ve both led worship with Kids. I’ve also enjoyed the privilege of getting to do programming and emcee several events… almost always with my good buddy, Braun Brown.
Watermark is a place of life change and it’s a thrill and privilege getting to experience together the abundant life God has for us (John 10:10).
