I grew up in Houston, TX as the oldest of five kids. Though I had a loving family, I was a shy and fearful kid early on. In 5th grade, a curiosity for God began to grow, and Jesus opened my eyes to my need for Him. That decision changed the trajectory of my life, and ever since, I’ve been learning what it means to trust Him daily and rest in His grace.
I studied finance at Texas A&M University, but even during college I sensed God’s call to ministry. That call led me to DFW, where I began serving as a youth pastor and, not long after, met my wife, Jen, who was a teacher and a member at Watermark. We got married, and today we’re raising three wonderful (and wild) kids: Emery Kay, Ty, and Malachi.
Over the years I’ve had the privilege of serving as a youth pastor in Dallas and Nashville, and as a teaching pastor in Katy, TX. Now I serve as the Director of Discipleship for The Porch, where I love opening God’s Word and walking with young adults who are hungry for Jesus. Outside of ministry, you’ll often find me cheering on the Aggies and Astros, wrestling with my kids, or watching Survivor with Jen.
