I am so thankful that God has allowed me to be a part of the Watermark family since 2002 when we moved to Dallas and a part of the staff team here since 2004. God has used the people of this place – community groups, various ministries, elders and leaders – to bring healing, transformation and growth to my life at several different stages of my journey and I am forever grateful. My greatest joy is seeing others experience that same life change themselves as they surrender to the will of God and take advantage of his grace to them available in its various forms here at Watermark.
Speaking of grace, I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home with godly parents who introduced me to Jesus and taught me about him from an early age. I surrendered my life to Him around the age of 6 and truly have never looked back. Brandy and I met in college at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene and were married in 1997. She and I have the privilege/challenge/opportunity to raise our 4 amazing kids – Josiah, Selah, Malachi and Ella – and pray consistently that they will love the Lord with all of their heart and follow Him all the days of their lives.
I have always been in vocational ministry going back to high school when I worked at summer camps with Texas Baptist Men, into college where I served as a music minister (think choirs and hymns, not skinny jeans and guitars), and that eventually led me to attending Dallas Seminary and joining the staff here at Watermark. As a staff member, I’ve gotten to be a part of our Single Parent Family Ministry, DivorceCare, Single Adult Ministry, Kids Ministry and Family Ministry and now get to serve as a Married Community Director. I love the local church and believe that, by God’s grace, He can and will change the world through it and that the very gates of hell itself will not be able to stand against it.
