Meet Devan

I grew up in Topeka, Kansas which is the capital city of Kansas. I grew up between 2 households, mother and my fathers. Alongside my 3 sisters and a few animals. We attended church weekly growing up; however, Christ was more of a name and a philosophy than a God.

In the fall of 2020, I moved to Manhattan, Kansas to attend Kansas State University after I graduated high school. I didn’t know anyone and was seeking to live the “college life.” A man named Caleb shared the Gospel with my pretty much my 3rd day on campus in which I respectfully declined his offer that would hinder my college freedom. I joined a fraternity later that year where I was slightly more interested in my faith but not moved by the Gospel enough to take it seriously. In the summer of 2023, I attend a 9-week summer program in Alabama with my campus ministry. While I was down there, I was confronted by those who called themselves Christians and their manner of life affirm their confession. These encouraged me to take up the Bible where God changed my life through the Gospel of John. It was in this letter did I start to meet the real Jesus I’ve heard about my entire life. I learned that Jesus loved me and to prove it He would die on a cross and raise Himself up from the dead to prove it. My soul couldn’t stand it He promised forgiveness of my lifestyle of sin and rebellion as well and told me He would grant me eternal life with Him as well. I was captivated and my sin was evident. After finishing the Gospel I thirsted for God and His forgiveness for my sins alongside communion with Him forever, therefore on June 5th, 2023, I put my faith in Christ and ever since then it truly hasn’t been the same, I was dead and now I’m alive in Christ!

After I sought to make disciples and became fascinated with theology and Gods character, I needed to know about the God who loved me and gave Himself for me. So, I studied independently and shared the Gospel with my fraternity brothers and young men I met in the dorms before graduating college and moving the Dallas, Texas to attend the Watermark Institute.

Now I continue the ministry Christ has called me into as the Men’s Shoreline Coordinator to help students see the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior
