Amber Hockett here – wife of Alex Hockett and mom to Ellis, Judah, and Leo! I grew up all over the United States but have lived in Texas the longest I’ve lived anywhere. Before Christ I was someone who thought she could do it all. I depended on my own strength and self-sufficiency and quickly realized that left me feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and exhausted. It was in those moments I found a loving Father who told me to give Him my cares and my worries because He cares so deeply for me and wants to help carry those burdens (1 Peter 5:7 and Matthew 11:28-30). Now my life is radically different. I no longer look inward for my strength, but upward. I no longer rely on the broken cisterns of my strength and self-sufficiency but rely on the One who can meet all my needs. I no longer place my trust in the unstable, untrustworthy, unpowerful, unfulfilling things of earth, but I place my trust in a stable, trustworthy, powerful, satisfying God. If you want to know more about this kind, loving, gracious God feel free to message me. I would love to buy you coffee and tell you about Him.
